The apartment is located in the “upper Marais” (haut Marais) known for an eclectic mix of residential buildings, trendy galleries, original storekeepers and hip new stores, boutique hotels, coffee shops and restaurants. The Pompidou Centre (modern art museum), Musee de la Chasse et de la Nature (museum of hunting & nature) plus the National Archives are the nearest major landmarks.
A short stroll North will lead you to one of the oldest covered markets in Paris (Marche des Enfants Rouges) and rue de Bretagne (lined with amenities such as fresh cheese, wine and pastry shops) and a short walk South towards the Hotel de Ville will lead you to the rue Rambuteau (recently gentrified and a feast for the senses).
Located in a traditional Parisian 17th century building (which has been renovated from top-to-bottom), this apartment offers the advantage of top floor (4th) serenity, light and dramatic cathedral ceilings, with the convenience of an elevator (almost unheard of in the historic “Marais”). Three dormer windows (double glazed for sound-insulation) provide charming views of the rooftops and streetscape of Paris.
The decor inspiration for this apartment is a mid-century loft. Enjoy an elegant mix of “classic” 50’s/60’s furniture combined with more contemporary pieces. There is a separate bedroom with a large closet, plus additional sleeping for one or two more on the sofa bed (comfy and designed for daily use ) in the living room. The open kitchen with soaring 20 ft ceiling features an open breakfast bar, concrete countertops, dishwasher, built-in clothes washer/ dryer, microwave, separate oven/ cooktop and large fridge with freezer. The bathroom has a full bathtub combined with shower for relaxing after a day exploring the wonders of Paris. Hardwood floors provide character and charm in the open-concept living/dining and separate bedroom areas.

"Incredible pied-à-terre in the bustling Marais"
"This lovely apartment was the perfect home base for our five-day stay in Paris. Its location is downright incredible: the Marais is crammed full of so many delightful boutiques and restaurants, and we never had to walk far to discover great food or shopping. We could have explored that neighborhood alone for many more days. And the brasserie across the street was handy for a quick coffee and croissant. (It even stays open till 2 a.m. if you're looking for a late-night nightcap.)
The property itself is stunning: beautiful high angled ceilings, hardwood floors, elegant décor, a bank of north-facing windows to catch the breeze, and a fuzzy rug under the coffee table that we loved digging our tired feet into every evening. The kitchen is excellently appointed, great for eating in if you like; the bed in the bedroom is comfy and roomy for two.
The pictures on the site really do the apartment justice -- it's truly as good as it looks. It manages to feel spacious and homey despite its smallish size. And the owner was friendly, charming, and very helpful, with great recommendations for the district and the city in general.
Sorry to gush, but we really don't have a bad thing to say about the place. When we travel back to Paris, we'll book with Thomas again in a heartbeat. "

"In mid-March my 26 year old daughter and I had a 5 night holiday together in Paris staying at Pastourelle.
This quaint, contemporary apartment is well located in the Marais, just walking distance from the Pompidou Centre, where we were interested in visiting to see Paris’s best collection of contemporary art.
The apartment is just around the corner from the Marche Des Enfants Rouges, the quaint market of locally grown French produce. As soon as we arrived we walked to the market to stock up on organic fruits and vegetables, coffee, h’orderves and wine. Paris is the city of exquisite restaurants, but it was also fun to have our own delicious supplies to enjoy breakfast before setting off to explore the city, and nice to come back to and relax before heading out to a restaurant for dinner.
The bed is comfortable and the pull-out couch also works perfectly to make the living room work as a second bedroom. The apartment has a good shower with lots of hot water and a well-appointed kitchen.
Pastourelle is perfectly located for a sophisticated holiday together in Paris, with the right mix of contemporary style and comfort. We have great memories from our trip together, and hope to make it back again soon."
